India, Native State, Dholpur, kingdom of Gohad, silver rupees (3), 1250/29 (1834), 1251/30 (1835), (2 one illustrated), obv. includes a parasol, rev. a pistol (upside down) and a leaf, (KM.C12a.1). Very fine and scarce. (3)

Dholpur has had a turbulent history. In 1803 the territory was captured by the British and in 1805 it was returned to the ranas (kings) of Gohad. They opened the mint which operated until 1857.
