India, British, EIC, Madras Presidency, British Style Coinage system, gold half mohur or half ashrafi, issued 1819, struck at Madras mint, (5.85 g), obv. EIC crest, a lion rapant, around ENGLISH EAST INDIA COMPANY, rev. in Persian 'Half ashrafi (half Mohur) of the Honourable English Company', (Pridmore 242, KM.420). Extremely fine, rare.
