Probus, (A.D. 276-282), silver antoninianus, Rome mint, issued 278 A.D., (3.80 g), obv. radiate, helmeted and cuirassed bust to left of Probus, with spear and shield, around IMP PROBVS AVG, rev. Roma seated facing in temple of six columns with Victory and sceptre, around ROMAE AETERNAE, in exergue R star **G*, (S.12027, RIC 195). Extremely fine with a strong portrait and good silvering, rare in this condition.
