PIETAS AVGG around, Pietas, veiled, standing left, raising both hands, (S.9642, RIC 42) (illustrated); another, (3.32 g), rev. LIBERTAS AVG around, Libertas standing left holding pileus and sceptre, (S.9634, RIC 39); Gordian III, (A.D.238-244), silver antoninianus, (4.08 g), obv. radiate draped bust right, rev. VICTOR AETER around, Victory standing left with palm, resting shield on captive at foot, (S.8662, RIC 154). Attractive toning, extremely fine and scarce. (3)
