Philip I, (244-249 A.D.), silver antoninianus, Rome Mint, (4.60 g), obv. radiate head of Philip to right, around IMP PHILIPPVS AVG, rev. SAECVLARES AVGG around, She wolf standing to left, suckling the twins, (S. 8957, RIC 15, C.178) (illustrated); another, (6.02 g), rev. FIDES EXERCITVS around, four standards one of which is a legionary eagle, (S.8930, RIC 62, RSC 50) (illustrated); another, (3.92 g), rev. Virtus standing right holding spear and shield, (S.8977, RIC 71, RSC 243); another, (3.38 g), rev. Pax walking left with branch and sceptre, (S.8940, RIC 42, RSC 109). Toning, nearly very fine - extremely fine, the standards reverse a very scarce type. (4)
