Faustina Senior, wife of Antoninus Pius, posthumous issue, (died A.D.141, AE sestertius, (23.81 g), issued 147, Rome mint, obv. draped bust to right of Faustina , around DIVA FAVSTINA, rev. Ceres standing to left holding long torch in left hand, and grain ears in right, around C E R E S, S C across, (S.4621, RIC 1128, Banti 44) (illustrated); another, (25.72 g), obv. [FAVS]TINA AVG ANTONINI AVG [PII P P], draped bust of Faustina to right, rev. [IVNONI] REGINAE, S C across, Juno, veiled, standing left, holding a patera in her right hand and a long scepter with her left, (cf.S.4682, RIC 1077, RSC 216, Banti 75); another, (23.55 g), rev. Pietas standing left, sacrificing from raised hand over flaming altar, (S.4620, RIC 1127, RSC 125). Toning, nearly fine - good fine, the second a rare type. (3)
