Augustus, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), AE as, Emerita (Spain) mint, issued 25-23 B.C. by P. Carisius, (11.49 grams), obv. bare head of Augustus to right, around CAESAR AVG TRIBVNIC POTES, rev. P. CARISIV[S] / LEG / AVGVST[I] in three lines, (S.509 var., cf.RIC 19, C.394 var., cf.SNG Ash 330-4). Very fine, extremely rare, the obverse legend variant apparently unpublished.
