Syria, Kingdom of, Antiochus VIII, (121-96 B.C.), first reign (121-114/3 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.37 g), Ake Ptolemais mint, obv. diademed head of Antiochus VIII to right, fillet border, rev. Zeus Uranius with crescent above standing to left, holding star and sceptre, on right, **BASILEWS* and **ANTIOCOU* and to right **EPIFANOUS*, to left A*DR* monogram, (cf.S.7143, LSM [NN&M 84] No.35, ACNAC Houghton 813). Toned, evidence of die rust, nearly extremely fine and rare.
