Attica, Athens, (c.455-449 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.97 g), obv. Athena head to right, wearing Attic helmet adorned with three olive leaves, rev. owl standing to right, head facing, to right, **AQE (S.2526, Starr Group V B, Svoronos pl. 10, 1 ff, HGC 4, 1595). Attractively toned, struck on a compact flan, evidence of minor cleaning, otherwise nearly extremely fine and rare in this condition.
