Macedon, King of, Demetrios I Poliorketes, (306-283 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.92 g), uncertain Macedonian mint, issued c.290 B.C., obv. diademed and horned head of Demetrios to right, rev. Poseidon seated to left on rock, holding aplustre in extended right right hand, trident in left hand, M in inner left field, on right, **BASILEWS*, on left side **DHMHTRIOU*, dotted border, (S.6763, Newell 135 [dies CXXXII/275], cf.Gabler AMNG III, 13, Jameson 1006, SNG Alpha Bank -, SNG Munich -). Reverse slightly double struck, extremely fine and very rare.
