Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.26 g), Sardes mint, issued c.334-323 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, torch to left, IOP monogram below throne, to right **ALEXANDR[OU]*. (cf.S.6730, Price 2565, Thompson X, 114-116BMC 2565, M.86). Good very fine, scarce.
