Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.21 g), Miletus mint, issued 325-323 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus Aetophoros seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, to left monogram, to right **ALEXANDROU*, (cf.S.6730, Price 2290, BMC 2290a-h, M.763, Thompson 55-79). Attractively toned, very fine and scarce.
