Pair and Memorial Plaque: British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 3724 Pte. R.Torklson. 56-Bn. A.I.F. Both medals impressed. Both medals polished and display mounted on a shaped timber wall plaque, the medals with different ribbons featuring a pattern in the French flag colours of red, white and blue, and in the centre of the timber plaque is a highly polished WWI Memorial Plaque named to Richard Torklson, died as result of war service in France, good - fine.

Richard Torklson, labourer, age 35, born at Sydney, NSW; Enl.09Jul1917 at East Sydney Recruiting Depot by Sportsmen Unit Recruiting Officer, with previous service in Naval Reserve; Emb.31Oct1917 with reinforcements for 56Bn; WIA 01Jun1918 GSW left leg (multiple), France; RTA 06Nov1918; Died 22Feb1920 at 'Wooodville' Red Cross Home, Randwick, Sydney, NSW from Pulmonary Tuberculosis; Buried Church of England Section of Field of Mars Cemetery, East Ryde, Sydney, NSW; service medals and memorial plaque issued in 1923 to his sister as both his parents had died when he was only young.
