MC Group of Four: Military Cross (GRI); 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. First medal unnamed as issued, 60405, Pte. A.A.Hall. R.A.M.C. on second medal, 2.Lieut. A.A.Hall. on last two medals. All named medals impressed. Second and last medal heavily toned, otherwise fine - very fine.

MC: Edinburgh Gazette 12/3/1919, p1120 to T/2nd Lt. Alfred Arthur Hall, A. Cyc. Corps, attd. XVII. Corps. Cyc. Bn.

Citation: For conspicuous gallantry and good work near Elesmes on 9th November, 1918, at Farme de la Salmange. He personally reconnoitred the farm, and located four machine guns. He led forward groups of his platoon to envelop the position, and knocked out the teams of two hostile machine guns. Later, when orders were received to withdraw, he ran through cross belts of machine-gun fire to inform detached groups.

Alfred Arthur Hall, Pte in RAMC, first theatre served in was Egypt entering on 23Dec1915, commissioned into Shropshire Light Infantry 24Jun1918, then 2 Lieut in A.C.C. Applied for issue of medals on 16May1921 from address at Rydal, West Crescent, Darlington in north east region of England.
