Nero, (A.D. 54-68), AE sestertius, issued c.66, Lugdunum mint, (29.52 g), obv. laureate head to right of Nero, around NERO CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG GERM P M TR P IMP P P, rev. Ceres on right veiled and draped seated left, holding torch, feet on stool, Annona draped standing facing, right hand on hip, left hand holds cornucopiae, modius between them on altar, ship's stern behind, around ANNONA AVGVSTI CERES, [S C] in exergue, (S.1952, RIC 98, BMC 86, WCN 71). Very fine/good fine, rough surface on reverse, it is however an important type for Nero.
