Group of Seven to POW: British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19; 1939-45 Star; Pacific Star; Defence Medal 1939-45; War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45. 4391 W.S.Waller AIF on first two medals, QX20778 W.S.Waller on last five medals. All medals impressed, the first medal officially renamed. All medals are official replacements issued in 1967. The first two toned, otherwise good very fine - nearly uncirculated.

Together with medal wrappers, medal box and official medal leaflet and copy of newspaper death notice.



Walter Seaward Waller, bushman, age 19, born at Taree, NSW; Enl.24Jul1916 at Sydney, NSW; Emb.03Nov1916; served with 3 Div Sig Coy; RTA 24Dec1918; Disch.29Mar1919. WWII: Clerk of Works, age 41; Enl.18Jun1940 at South Brisbane; Emb.10Apr1941; POW 07Jan1943 at Java, Netherlands East Indies; recovered 22Sep1945; Disch.09Nov1945 as Sgt ex 2/3 Reserve Motor Transport Coy; Died 10Oct1989, late of East Gosford and formerly of Oxley Island, Manning River, Taree, NSW.
