Germany, cWWII, tropical cloth headgear, German Afrika Korps POW made field cap, M38 inspired side cap in a very light khaki cotton, top section in a darker khaki material, to the front a crudely embroidered cap eagle, cockade and soutache in blue (Transport Corps?), large embroidered DAK palm tree and swastika with 'D.A.K 1941' to the side, an interesting cap true to character with other known POW hand made examples of the period; Italy, M42 Pioneer officer's tropical field cap, light khaki cotton with a white cotton interior and leather sweatband, officer's bullion cap badge to the front and two metal rank stars for Lieutenant fitted to the body of the cap. Overall service wear and fading, very fine. (2)
