Germany, c1890-1900, Imperial Prussian Army officer's peaked cap, blue melton wool body with black fibre visor, black wool cap badge and scarlet piping, stock cockade to front and missing the national cockade, original leather sweatband with heavy wear and some damage; WWII, Army artillery officer's visor cap, field grey tricot wool body, with dark green cap band and red waffenfarbe piping, original officer's silver bullion cap eagle bullion cap wreath and metal cockade, black vulcan fibre visor with brown checkered underside and original silver bullion officer's chin cords. First with some heavy soiling to the interior lining obscuring maker's mark, second with much overall mothing with particular damage to the wool backing of the cap wreath and large torn section to the rear cap band, some soiling and washing out to the waffenfarbe piping, heavy wear and damage to the sweatband and soiling to the lining, fine.
