Ancient British, North Thames Region, Tasciovanos, Inscribed coins, Tasciovanos Cam type, (c.25 B.C.-12 A.D.), gold quarter stater, (1.32 g), obv. crossed wreath motif with two opposed crescents, teardrop motifs in angles, rev. horse to left, [C]AMVL monogram and pellet daisy above, rings around, (S.222, ABC 2589, Van A 1694, NT 7, BMC 1640, M 187, CCI 04.2213 [this coin]). Nice rose gold, bold horse, good very fine or better and extremely rare.

This quarter stater belongs to one of Tasciovanos' rarest series. For many years there was only a single example known. This piece was found in Hertfordshire and only 12 others have been recorded.
