Ancient British, North Thames Region, Tasciovanos, Uninscribed coins, Tasciovanos Spiral type, (c.25 B.C.-12 A.D.), gold stater, (5.50 g), obv. crossed-wreath motif with two opposed crescents and four ringed-pellets at centre forming hidden faces, rev. full bodied horse to right, with corded mane, pellet under tail, bucranium and anemone above, hook-like object and ring below, (S.214, ABC 2553, Van A 1680 var, NT 7, BMC 1591-603, M 149). Attractive rose gold, sharply struck with a beautiful obverse, bold horse with full bucranium, superb extremely fine and rare.

As per the article by Rainer Kretz in The Numismatic Circular, Vol CVI, no.1, February 1998, this stater is part of the Obv Type B, Rev Type II series. It is an exceptionally beautiful example of this rare type.
