Ancient British, North Thames Region, Trinovantes, Uninscribed coins, Clacton Quarter type, (c.60-50 B.C.), gold quarter stater, (1.42 g), obv. three men in a boat with crescents around, rev. horse to right, two pellets and down-turned crescent above, pellet under head, pellet and small x below, exergual line with zigzag decoration, (S.42, ABC 2350, Van A -, NT 4-5, BMC 192, M -, CCI 07.0535 [this coin]). Nice flan of pale gold, attractive horse for type, good very fine and scarce.
