Ancient British, South Western Region, Uninscribed coins, Durotriges, Duro Boat Gold type, (c.50-30 B.C.), gold quarter stater, (1.36 g), obv. three stylised men in a boat, rev. central thunderbolt, Y-shape and grainy triangle to left, Y-shape and bird to right, (S.46 var, ABC 2205, Van A 1225 var (grainy triangle), SW 4-5, BMC 414-18 var, M 44 var). Good flan of toned gold, clear 'bird', nearly extremely fine - extremely fine and a rare variant.

The Y-shapes on this quarter stater are a distinctive feature of Durotrigan coins and the grainy triangle at 11-12 o'clock on the reverse is an extremely rare variant.
