Ancient British, South Western Region, Uninscribed coins, Durotriges, Cranborne Chase type, (c.58-45 A.D.), silver stater, probably alloyed with a little gold, (5.90 g), obv. Durotrigan wreath pattern with upward facing leaves, hair composed of 'bears paws', rev. triple-tailed disjointed horse to left, with stylised head, large pellets above, oval shape behind, large pellet below on exergual line (S.365, ABC 2157, Van A 1235-1, SW 5-6, S 365, BMC 2525-46, M 317, CCI 001208 [this coin]). Bright silver, very large flan, very heavy weight, sharp wreath with good display of decorative cloak lines, good very fine - nearly extremely fine.
