Ancient British, North Eastern Region, Uninscribed coins, Corieltavi, Right type, (c.60-50 B.C.), gold stater, (5.93 g), obv. wreath motif with leaves facing inwards, tiny pellets in field, rev. lunate horse to right, pelletal sun below, quatrefoil under chin, star below head, exergual line with zigzag decoration and pellets between, (S.28, ABC 1719 var, Van A 800-7/11, NE 5-6, BMC 188, M 51/51a). Neat round flan of yellow gold, superb horse, beautiful ornaments, extremely fine and an extremely rare variety.
