Ancient British, East Anglia Region, Uninscribed coins, Iceni, Norfolk Wolf type, (c.60-54 B.C.), gold stater, (6.09 g), obv. Icenian wreath motif with upward facing leaves, rev. wolf to right, mouth open, teeth bared, bristles on back, pellets and crescent above, large pellet and crescent below, oval shape in front, beaded exergual decoration, (S.30, ABC 1393, Van A 610-1, EA 5, BMC 212-216, M 49, CCI 08.9021 [this coin]). Bold wolf with head, teeth and bristles clearly showing, nearly extremely fine and an excellent example of a scarce piece.
