Southern Britain, Inscribed issue, Atrebates and Regini, Epatticus Eagle type, (c.20 - 40 A.D.), silver unit, (1.25 g), obv. Herculean bust of Epatticus to right, wearing lionskin headdress, EPATI before, beaded border, rev. spread-winged Roman eagle, head to left, talons clutching S-shaped snake, ringed pellet above, beaded border, (S.356, ABC 1346, BMC 2024-2293, M 263, Van A 580). Toned silver, superb head with full EPATI, extremely fine, an exceptional example.

The vast majority of these coins were found in two temple deposits at Waltham St Lawrence and Wanborough.
