Ancient British, Cantiaci, (c.45-40 B.C.), gold quarter stater, (1.40 g), tree-like trophy type, obv. plain with traces of curved lines beneath, rev. tree in centre with six branches and three roots, decorated bar each side, three ringed pellets (middle ring beaded) and crescent above, bent line (lightning flash?), crescent and ornament below, (ABC 189, Van A -, LT -, S -, SCBI 1 29, Chris Rudd 11.9). Bold tree with detailed ornamentation around, nearly extremely fine and very rare.
