Ancient Britain, Gallic War imports, (c.56-55 B.C.), Ambiani, uniface crescent arcs type gold stater (6.14 g), obv. plain, rev. M-shaped Celtic horse right, standing on cabled exergual line, pellet triad, pellets and charioteer's arms above, pellet and crescent below, stylised snake in front with elliptical head, oval shape behind, crescent and dots in exergue, beaded border, (S.11, Sills class 3b, ABC 16 [this coin], GB 5, Van A 54, CCI 05.0081 [this coin]). Brilliant extremely fine, good metal, centrally struck and lavishly ornamented, a stunning example and very rare in this condition.
