Ancient Britain, Gallic War imports, (c.57-56 B.C.), Ambiani, uniface gold stater (6.21 g), obv. plain with traces of undertype, rev. M-shaped Celtic horse right, crescents, pellets and charioteer's arms above, elliptical snake's head in front, pellet below, wavy decoration under exergual line. (S.11, Sills class 2c, ABC 16 var, GB 5, Van A 54, LT 8710). Extremely fine, attractive golden toning, well centred with a clear snake, a bold example.

This superb stater is in pristine condition with no grazes or scuffs and has a pleasing rich golden colour.
