Gallo-Belgic, Imported to Britain, Uninscribed Coinage, Gallo-Belgic Ab1, class 2, broad flan facing left type, Bellovaci?, (c.175-120 B.C.), gold stater, (7.30 g), obv. draped head of Apollo left, with elaborate hairstyle, rev. Celticised horse to left, winged charioteer above, rosette below, circular pattern behind, (S.2, Sills fig.33b, p.141, pl.9, nos.286-287, dies 19B/21A, ABC 4, Van A. 12, LT 7886). Struck on a large flan, good very fine with good facial details and ornate hair. An attractive example from a very rare class.
