Septimius Severus, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, issued 199, Rome mint, (2.64 g), obv. laureate head to right of Septimius Severus, around L SEPT SEV AVG IMP XI PART MAX, rev. Victory hovering to left, holding open wreath with both hands over shield set on base, around VICTORIAE AVGG FEL, (S.6381, RIC 144b, RSC 719). Deeply toned, minor flan crack, nearly extremely fine, scarce, with collector's ticket.
