Japan, Sendai Ko Zuchi Gin (Sendai small hammer silver), (13.87 g), issued 1863 by the Sendai clan, obv. very weak traces only, rev. Bun Kyu, (Hartill 9.106); National coinage, Ansei Era, (1859-1868), silver Ichi Bu Gin 17x24mm, (8.75, 8.65, 8.42 g), struck 1859-1868, obv. Ichi bu gin in Hanji characters within border of sakura (cherry blossoms), rev. Jo in incuse countermark above Ginza Jose in Hanji characters; all within border of sakura, (Hartill, Japanese 9.82; JNDA 09-50/34, KM.C.16a); similar silver shu (2) under Mutsuhito, issued 1868-9, 10x15mm, (1.71, 1.90 g), (Hartill 9.87, KM.C.12a); others bu (Ichi bu) (2), 12x19mm, (2.07, 3.16 g), issued about 1860, in very base gold, (Hartill 8.32a, JNDA 09-29, KM.C,21d). Good - very fine, several scarce. (8)
