Group of Four: Military Medal (GVR type 1); 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 1524 L Cpl G.M.Broadbent. 21/Aust:Inf:Bn: on first medal, 1524 Pte G.M.Broadbent 21/Bn. A.I.F. on second medal, 1524 Cpl. G.M.Broadbent. 21Bn. A.I.F. on last two medals. All medals impressed. Display court mounted, good very fine.

MM: LG 21/10/1916, p10222, posn 3; CAG 19/4/1917, p918, posn 12.

Recommendation: 'For conspicuous gallantry and endurance at Mouquet on the 26th August 1916 as runners between the front line and Brigade Headquarters under heavy fire of machine guns and artillery. L/Cpl Broadbent in particular distinguished himself by his instant readiness to undertake dangerous duty and the reliability of his work. The services of both soldiers call for the highest praise' (joint recommendation with the MM award to Private P.Mortimer)'.
