George Seers, labourer, age 22,born at Morrisset, NSW; Enl.04Aug1915 at Newcastle, NSW; MIA and later changed to KIA 15Apr1917 at France; One of his unit friends, S.O.Birkin 6371, stated, 'He was of B Coy. On 15Apr1917 holding the line outside Dernicourt (sic, Dernancourt) 10 miles from Bapaume. Was killed outright by a bullet, during Enemy's attack, hit in head. I was standing alongside him at the time. We were taken prisoners later. His body would be left in trench.' He is commemorated at the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial.
