BEM: Supplement to LG 14/6/1945, p2960, to Leading Seaman George Kirk Graham, P/JX.269625 (Markinch, Fife).
Recommendation: Leading Seaman (Radar) George Graham, HMS Spartiate - Has been attached to the fitting out and repair staff at Sherbrooke House for three years. The work of this staff has been of vital importance to the war at sea, and this Rating has displayed exceptional skill and constant devotion to duty. His work has often been carried out in difficult and dangerous conditions, when attending to ships at the Tail of the Bank. Nevertheless, he has never failed to undertake any duty, without regard to personal safety. At times, when contractors' workmen have found the repair work inaccessible owing to weather conditions, he has, without hesitation, gone aloft and himself completed the work.
Together with medal boxes, medal issue slip, letter from Admiralty for award of BEM and copy of recommendation and London Gazette pages.
