Phoenicia, Tyre, (c. 2nd century B.C. - 1st century A.D.), silver shekel or tetradrachm, (13.59 g), Tyre mint, issued year 4 = 123-122 B.C., obv. laureate head of Melqarth beardless to right, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, carrying a palm, standing on prow of ship, club to left, above L**D*, monogram HAP in right field, around **TUROU IERAS KAI ASULOU*, (S.5918, Cohen [p.509, reports date as R3, extremely rare ie. one example in 10 years], BMC 214 [this date], H.1618 [817]). Nearly very fine and an extremely rare date, rough reverse surface.
