Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.03 g), Sardes mint, issued 334-323 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, monogram torch to left, traces **ALEXANDROU* to right, monogram below throne, (cf.S.6730, Price 2566, BMC -, M.86, Thompson, 'Sardes 120'). Toned, small flan, nearly very fine.
