Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.85 g), Corinth mint, issued c.220 - 215 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, **QE* under throne, to left outer field, Athena standing to left with shield and spear, to right **[A]LEXANDROU, (cf.S.6713, Price 703 (p.159, Pl.XXXVIII), BMC 703a-b, M.882, Noe, Sicyon No.60). Well centred, good very fine / nearly extremely fine and very rare late Corinthian issue.
