Love token with detailed engraving both sides of an elongated and smoothed George III halfpenny. 'Accept. of this not worth your care/tho sister dear you do it share/Thos Davies and Frances/Davies', 1785 below engraving of English naval officer standing right holding a heart on a string in right hand and his outstretched left hand holding his hat bidding farewell to a lady standing left wearing an incredible hat. Reverse 'This was not sent in compliment/but as a token for to show/the love I do my sister owe'. Hardship in exergue beneath engraving of a three masted sailing vessel left, female leaning on anchor to the right, head in hand. Nearly very fine and very rare Thomas Davies came out on the First Fleet.
