Gordian III, (A.D. 238-244), silver antoninianus, Rome mint, issued 242-3, (4.08 grams), obv. radiate bust right, around IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. PM TR P V COS II P with Apollo seated to left holding branch, (S.8648, RIC 89, RSC 261). Well centred on a broad flan, lightly toned, nearly extremely fine.
