Arabia Petraea, Philippolis. Philip II. (247-249 A.D.), AE (15.15 gm), struck at Antioch, obv. AUTOK K M IOY**LI FILIPPO*1C CEB laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip II to right, rev. **FILIPPOPOLITWN KOLWWNIA*C around, Roma seated left holding eagle supporting two small figures (Divus Marinus, the grandfather of Philip II, and his deified wife?) and resting on spear, S-C in field, (S.4156, Spikerman 6, SNG ANS 1410). Good fine and very rare with earthen green patina.

A similar example in CNG Electronic Sale 255 (lot 269) closing May 4, 2011 realised $650.
