Edward VIII, 1937 dated crown for New Zealand, 'Patina' retrospective pattern series, proof struck in .925 sterling silver, obverse, portrait of King to right by Percy Metcalfe, reverse, Waitangi crown design, inscribed NEW ZEALAND WAITANGI TREATY 1840, struck with milled edge (illustrated), second with plain edge, each variety one of only 12 pieces made; with additional six proofs struck in gold coloured alloy, another in silver coated copper piedfort another in aluminium, these have milled edge, another set as before but with plain edge with the gold coloured alloy a piedfort, each medal is one of 12 pieces struck for each type. FDC, first two pieces are lightly toned. (8)
