Edward VIII, 1937 dated crown for Ireland, 'Patina' retrospective pattern series, proofs struck in platinum coloured alloy, another in gold coated copper piedfort and another in silver coated piedfort, these all have milled edges, obverse, portrait of King to right by Percy Metcalfe, date at end of legend, reverse, Irish harp, together with additional similar in golden alloy, another in silver coated piedfort metal, another in platinum coloured alloy, all with plain edges; another three, undated with obverse portrait of King left by Donald R Golder, rev. Irish harp, proofs struck in copper as a piedfort, another in aluminium, another silver plated piedfort. FDC, each is one of only 12 pieces made. (9)
