Severus Alexander, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, issued 222, Rome mint, (3.11 grams), obv. laureate head to right, around IMP C M AVR SEV ALEXAND AVG, rev. P M TR P III COS P P, Mars standing holding branch and sceptre, (cf.S.7895, RIC 7, C.208a). Struck slightly off centre with light hoard patina, otherwise extremely fine.
