Augustus, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), AE dupondius or as, Nemausus mint, issued 9-3 B.C., at Nemausus (modern day Nimes), (13.57 grams), obv. laureate head of Agrippa to left and laureate head of Augustus to right, above IMP below DIVI F, dotted border, rev. COL NEM on either side of palm-shoot, chained crocodile below, wreath above, (S.1730, RIC 158, RPC 524; Sear GIC 157). One half of the coin is lightly struck on both sides with flan adjustment marks in evidence in the lightly struck areas, otherwise very fine and rare.
