Macedon, Kingdom of Philip II, (359-336 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (14.26 grams), Amphipolis III mint, issued c. 323/2-316/5 B.C., obv. head of Zeus laureate to right, dotted border, rev. naked youth or small man (Philip II or jockey), on horseback to right, aplustre below, and **P.* below right, above **FILIP POU*, (cf.S.6683, Le Rider Pl.46, 18, [Pl.46, p.124], SNG ANS 740 [similar dies], SNG Cop.559, M.155). Lightly toned, unusual lapping markings on edge, otherwise nearly extremely fine and very scarce.
