Together with miniature medal (normal type); South African Infantry hat badge; another but cap badge; South African Infantry collar badges (2); South Africa/Zuid Afrika Inf metal shoulder titles (2). Douglas Charles Owles, service no.1594, age 38, engineer, born London, England; previous service ten years Durban Light Infy, served in Boer War and Natal Rebellion 1906; Enl.02Nov1915 at Potchefstroom; appt RQMS 6 Reg SA Infy; Emb.09Jan1916; WIA 29May1916 on a German bridge, German East Africa, shell fragment left shoulder and forehead; RTSA 17Aug1916; Disch.27Apr1917. With copies of service records including official list which shows his entitlement to Natal Medal 1906 as Lt D.C.Owles, Durban Lt Infy.
