Rifleman William Ernest Redshaw, age 21, born Cambridge, ploughman of Kaukapakapa; 11th Reinforcements, 1st Bn, E Coy, NZ Rifle Brigade; Emb.25Sep1916 from Wellington to Devonport, England; served in Messines campaign and KIA 07Jun1917 in Belgium; buried at Messines Ridge British Cemetery; his photo is in Auckland Weekly News 1917 and he is mentioned in New Zealand at the Front, 1917, p141 (magazine published in France by men of the NZ Division). Together with research notes and photo of Riflemen Redshaw.
