British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 39694 Rflm S.A.Best N.Z.E.F. Both medals impressed. Very fine.

Stephen Archibald 1st Battalion ZNFB; Enl.01Nov1916. Deserted Albany 20Jun1917 absent from ’A’ Company 26th Reinforcements until he surrendered himself to the Military Authorities at Albany on the 28Jun1917 when he was dressed in plain clothes. He was later convicted by Court Martial and sentenced to 112 days detention. Best did further service in France with a reinforcement draft and also served at home with the Air Force in WWII. Together with fifty seven photocopy pages of service record.
