Group of Six. 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19; War Medal 1939-45; New Zealand Service Medal 1939-45. 13/350 Tpr H.G.Garratt N.Z.E.F. in first,second and third medals, H.G.Garratt Late N.Z.E.F. on last medal. Fourth and fifth medals unnamed, other medals impressed. Very fine.

Together with miniature medals; ANZAC lapel badge reverse engraved 13/350; R.S.A. Service Member 1979 Wellington badge; framed and glazed photograph Wellington Gallipoli Veterans Association 1953-54 (frame 330mm x 444mm). Herbert George Garratt AMR 4th; Enl.13Aug1914; WIA Dardanelles 20Aug1915 GSW left arm and ankle, invalided to NZ 29Nov1915. Garratt was sent back to England due to complications with the wound to his leg which required specialist treatment, this was not successful. His left foot was amputated May 1917. This did not heal well, the rest of his lower leg was amputated 5 inches above the knee in July 1917. Disch.28Mar1919 medically unfit for service.
